a bomb blast in eastern afghanistan leaves three nato service members dead. at this hour, the victim's nationalities are being withheld. this comes on the heels of a weekend attack that left another nato soldier dead, killed by a man dressed in an afghan army uniform. it happened when david petraeus handed over control. it shows petraeus transferring power to lieutenant general john allen. in september, petraeus will become director of the c.i.a. and another bus tour crashing. this one leaving at least two people dead. it happened about 55 miles south of rochester, new york. the bus was on its way from washington, d.c. to niagara falls when the driver lost control, veered down a grassy embankment into the woods. 35 passengers are hurt. four of them are in critical condition. early reports indicate a tire blowout might have caused that crash. and the video is incredible and horrifying at the same time. a look at what happened, a stage collapse at a cheap trick concert and it was all caught on camera. it happened during a thunderstorm at the ottawa blues fest.

there's been a lot of lessons more recently from iraq and afghanistan. you've been talking to people about that. what have you been hearing? >> what doctors are telling us, it's sad to think, but a basic fact. tens of thousands have been wounded in this war. you have this giant population of, that they are learning from. and what they're basically learning, they will tell you, i think is dynamic innovative, fast-moving medical care. try new things, try and see what you can accomplish with new techniques, new procedures. because they can't stick to just the old way of doing business. these kids are coming back with traumatic injuries that are very, very tough. they got to find a way to deal with them. and you find doctors and nurses out there trying new things, things that may be in your emergency room, not too far from now. >> i'm not quite sure how to say this, but i think on the battlefield you are forced to innovate in ways that in civilian medicine, you're not. it becomes so rote here in hospitals, this is fascinating stuff. let's keep talking about

have to deal with when you call it that or not call it conscience i was never an afghanistan i never marched to my letters because i didn't think i learned how and then i died after casey had. killed about three weeks my daughter in a crime and you know the last couple hindsight if we the people let them continue another mother will be i have a duty so lisa least you know tell people my story. it's the guys are stuck where you know call for so they're all go back to your parents they're fine for us somebody's house for. their house. people like us if i didn't object to some obvious injustice i couldn't live with myself about love i can't make a difference at least i'm going to try at least some of the damage on my deathbed and say at least i tried to make a difference when i thought we were getting deployed. we're living in ohio so we just threw everything in the baton rouge back home so now everything's kind of settled and i'm getting out of the army. and i have to go through all this crap and figure out what's the stuff i keep lots of stuff which are back to the unit. so i can get
